I have had the distinct privilege to be entrusted by many people to teach the powers of juicing. Most of our requests for information have come from people who don't know much about greens and juicing.

We say: "You can change your entire eating lifestyle in just a few short days", yet they can't seem to wrap it around their heads, or even conceive it, because for years and perhaps decades they have been struggling to lose weight or change their lifestyle.

The"Power of Greens" and the "Mystery of Greens" are what catapult us into the realms of superhealth so quickly, it's almost unbelievable.....so we say, why not try it and see for yourself?

Ok...How do we achieve this?

Here are the steps we recommend you can do to achieve this:

We call it 5 Days to Superhealth:

1. Drink 1 to 2 quarts per day (throughout the day/evening) of the juice recommended below*
2. Make a supergreen smoothie in the mornings**
3. Make a Supersalad everyday***(eat them for lunch and dinner)
4. Exercise or walk everyday for 30 minutes
5. Dry brush your skin daily or take a hot sauna everyday and drink 6 full glasses of water daily as well

Here is the juicing recipe we recommend during the 5 days to Superhealth:

1.* 20 carrots (organic)
1 cup spinach
1 cup parsley
1 medium size beet with greens
3 ribs celery
1/4 cup cilantro or basil

Here's the supergreen smoothie for your mornings:

2.** Fill your blender with 3 to 4 cups purified water
add 2 to 3 organic bananas
add 2 scoops Sun Warrior Protein Vanilla Powder
add 2 cap fulls of super green powder (we recommend Greens Plus)
add 1 tablespoon organic spirulina

Blend and drink slowly.....(you can save what you can consume in the refrigerator for later.)

Now, in order to change your PALATE regarding eating habits, we recommend what Linda and I teach quite frequently called SuperSalads. Even heavy meat eaters, or people who have not eaten a vegetarian diet, or die hard sugar addicts can change in these five days when incorporating these SuperSalads into their life.

3.***You can make a variety of SuperSalads throughout the 5 days, but we recommend our basic:

4 cups Baby Field Greens
1/2 cup Edamame
1/2 cup Pepita seeds
1/2 cup Red Bell Pepper, diced
1/2 cup Slivered Carrots
1/2 cup Slivered Zucchini
1 cup cooked, Short Grain Brown Rice
1/3 cup diced green onions
1/2 cup organic green olives (pitted)

Salad Dressing: Use Grape Seed Oil or Macadamia Nut Oil with Tamari and fresh Lemon Juice or you can substitute the Tamari for Bragg's Aminos.

Sometimes we wrap our SuperSalads in Organic Corn Tortillas, and heat them up so they are strong enough to hold the salad inside.

Variations: slivered almonds, dried cranberries or cherries, chopped walnuts, julienned jicima, chopped celery, mushrooms, radishes, broccoli, cauliflower, green onions, yellow or maui onions, cucumbers, corn, celery, brussell sprouts, carrots, spinach, parsley, basil, chard, green leaf and red leaf lettuces, sprouts; lentil sprouts, mung bean sprouts, alfalfa sprouts, beets, red and green cabbage, garlic, black or green olives, fennel, radishes.

If you can't tolerate Baby Field Greens, then use Romaine Lettuce. It's very high in lots of nutrients, but do not use any other kinds of lettuces, especially ice berg lettuce. Also you can substitute brown rice for millet or pearl barley.

4. Exercise or walk for 30 minutes. The reason for this is crucial. We have a tendency to get stuck in life and sometimes we don't understand that changing our eating habits actually changes the way we think, it changes the way we act as it actually changes our brain chemistry for the better by releasing endorphins.

5. Dry Brush your skin or take a sauna everyday will help eliminate toxins that will start to eliminate from your skin. It also helps with keeping you refreshed and on track with your new body.

The water is important, because even if you are juicing everday, it is not the same as water. Water is one of our only sources of hydration, so we still need to be drinking water, especially as we exercise more and sweat in saunas.

The major KEY to this new you, is Juicing. Some people have accused me of saying juicing cures everything, juicing cures all, juicing cures wounds, and can heal the world! But the truth is, we don't ever say the word cure!

However, I do believe Juicing is the fastest way to reach, nourish and cleanse our bloodstream, by reaching our 1 trillion cells that are starving for oxygen, for life, for light....for energy!

After successfully achieving these 5 days to SuperHealth, you are going to feel in Control of your needs for sugar and carbs, you are going to feel relaxed and balanced, and you are going to finally feel really good about continuing this lifestyle as long as you wish.

If you are hypoglycemic or Diabetic, please consult your doctor before changing your diet.

Remember your Vital Health and your Inner Wealth are your greatest gifts in life.

Here it is:

1. Fill your kitchen sick up halfway with cold water

2. Add four tablespoons of Seasalt or Natural organic salt

3. Cut a lemon in half and squeeze the entire lemon as much as you can with its juice into the salt water solution.

4. Mix around to make sure it all is blended well.

5. Put all your greens, strawberries, grapes or whatever you have that needs cleaning and let soak for five minutes tops.

6. Rinse with cold water thoroughly.

This recipe makes a natural, diluted form of hydrochloric acid, which has been known to help remove surface sprays and eliminates fungus and bacteria that may be on the produce.

SO THERE YOU GO!

If you don't want to do this, we also recommend Biokleen's Produce Wash.
I have been juicing RAW Garlic for decades and decades.....since 1948, to be precise.

Back in the 1940's people called me an utter QUACK, a CHARLATAN, LIAR and MANIPULATOR of facts and truth, but here I am today, 62 years later, and pushing 90 years old, still preaching and teaching the same message over and over and over again.

I have never had a heart attack, I have never had gout, never any diabetes, intestinal troubles....and I have led a very very healthy life, thankfully to the generosity and dedication of a few doctors who treated me: Dr. Gerson and Dr. Norman Walker.

So many of our friends here on Facebook and others who have written to me have said....why GARLIC, WHY?

Let me tell you why Garlic is so important. But first let me give you some great garlic juice recipes: (for two people)

#1. Garlic Lover's Tonic

16 carrots
1 cup parsley
1 cup spinach
1 cup rainbow chard or kale
2 pippin apples or green apples
3 cloves garlic (they do not have to be crushed or even peeled.)

Make sure to put the garlic cloves into the juicer when you are juicing the carrots, alternating so that the entire clove is juice properly.

#2 Pass the Garlic and Greens Please?

2 cucumbers
2 zucchinis
4 green apples
1 medium sized beet with greens
1 cup parsley
4 ribs celery
2 large cloves garlic

This tonic is especially good for helping cleanse our liver and gallbladder, and does not contain carrots.

Below are some of the great benefits of garlic:

The Medicinal Properties of Garlic

Garlic is high in sulfur, which accounts for some of it's medicinal potency. The stronger the taste of the garlic, the higher the sulfur content and the better it is for you. Two other medicinally potent compounds in garlic are Diallyl Sulphides, which increase blood circulation, and Allicin, an anti-biotic, and anti-fungal compound.

In general terms raw garlic is:

A broad spectrum anti-biotic

Highly Anti-fungal

Highly Anti-bacterial

Highly Anti-parasitical

High in antioxidants

And the major health benefits of garlic are:

1. Increases blood circulation and thins the blood - this can lower blood pressure, reduce the likelihood of blood clots and lower the risk of heart attack and stroke

2. Suppresses the growth of tumors

3. Decreases levels of LDL or "bad cholesterol"

4. Stimulates the immune system by increasing blood cell count

5. Helps support recovery from cancer

6. Kills some intestinal parasites

It's important to note that these health benefits only apply to the use of raw garlic!

The active compounds in garlic are destroyed by cooking. They are also lost over time. Crushing or chopping raw garlic releases its medicinally potent compounds, which are sensitive to oxidation. It is best to consume the raw fresh garlic shortly after crushing or chopping to get the highest benefit.

A Few Facts About Garlic:

Garlic is probably descended from the species Allium longicuspis, which grows wild in south-western Asia

There are now over 300 varieties of garlic

China produces 10.5 billion kilos/year - about 75% of worldwide production

In Northeastern India, it is believed that garlic mixed with water spread around the home will keep snakes from entering

Garlic plants are very hardy and not attacked by pests

Garlic cloves cooked whole have very little medicinal value

Linda and I love to make supergreen living soups. Linda especially loves them because they are filling and yet quite low in calories, high in nutrient density and especially beautiful.

IF you live in a cold climate....you can warm this soup up....but do not warm it up too high. Don't go over 115 degrees and the enzymes and supergreen nutrients will be saved.

Here's our Favorite Supergeen Soup

(for two people)

3 cups Purified Water (more or less) We start with 2 and then add as we go.

1 large Haas Avocado (peeled)

1 cup Organic Baby Spinach

1/2 cup Organic Cilantro

1/2 cup Organic Parlsey

1/3 cup Organic Basil

2 large cloves Organic Garlic

1 Organic Zucchini

1/3 Yellow or Red Onion (peeled)

1 Lime (Juiced)

1 Organic Cucumber (peeled)

Cayenne and Organic Salt to taste.

Touch of Olive Oil for the top and some Basil Springs with a toss of Roasted Paprika and diced green onions for a real beautiful flair!

DIRECTIONS:

Put water into blender
Add all ingredients and blend until consistency is achieved.

Linda and I like it sort of chunky......

And we also eat Flax Crackers with this soup.

ENJOY!

If you want to do this soup for 24 hours, we highly recommend it. It's filling, it's cleansing and it's satisfying.

Hugs to everybody......Love you all lots and lots, Jay and Linda

Many people ask.....are there vegetables or fruits that do well as substitutes for carrots?

My answer is of course!

I use carrots frequently in juicing because they are naturally sweet, they are rich in beta-carotene and they are almost IDENTICAL TO THE structure of our HUMAN BLOOD...did you know that?

There have been many studies and serious talk about sugars and carrots, and since diabetes is so rampant in society today, I have taken it upon myself to give you a good link that discusses the tests done on carrots and their juice and how our bodies react to them. Remember, that if you eat two slices of bread, the spike in sugar goes way up, in comparison to drinking carrot juice.

Now, I will also say that Cucumbers are a WONDERFUL substitute for carrots. They are low in sugar, they are high in natural organic minerals and they don't have a strong taste to them, as to change the taste of the other veggies in the juice.

Here's just a bit of wonderful news about Cucumbers most don't know:

1. Cucumbers are a FRUIT, not a vegetable
2. Cucumbers contain sterols, which help in lowering cholesterol
3. Cucumbers are a natural diuretic
4. High in Vitamin C, A, K and potassium
5. Cucumbers are low in calories and great digestive aids
6. Cucumbers are a great substitute for carrots when juicing
7. Cucumbers are WAXED so be careful not to eat the skin

English cucumbers, which are housed in plastic, and they are longer and narrower are our choices for cucumber eating, if you cannot find a good natural foods market or organic, waxless kinds.

Be careful, because even the natural food grocery stores carry waxed cucumbers, and it's important to eat the SKINS because they carry great nutrients, so please try to find the waxless kinds....as eating waxed cucumbers will inhibit the absorption of the nutrients.

Here's some of our favorite Cucumber Tonics: (you can find these in our book, LIVE FOODS/LIVE BODIES on our website: juicedaddy.com)

=============================================

Jay's Cuke Tonic

3 large Cucumbers (unwaxed and unpeeled)
1 cup Parsley
1 cup Cilantro
1 Red Bell Pepper
2 large Green Apples

(good for two people)

=============================================

Cool as a Cucumber

3 large Cucumbers (unwaxed and unpeeled)
1 cup Green cabbage
1 cup Parsley
3 Golden Delicious Apples
1 large Green Zucchini

=============================================

Cucumber's Galore

4 Large Cucumbers
1 Large Beet with greens
2 Large Pippin Apples
2 ribs Celery

=============================================

The Three C's

4 large Cucumbers
2 cups Chard
4 ribs Celery

(great for digestion)

============================================

Basically, remember this......if your juicing recipe has carrots and you want to substitute, then look at it this way. For every ten carrots, use two large cucumbers. If the cucumbers are smaller, then for every 7 carrots, substitute the two smaller cucumbers.

Also, remember, that if you are substituting the carrots with the cucumbers, it will not taste as sweet, nor will it have the benefits of all that carotene, but in today's world, we must make adjustments to help our bodies heal.

Lots of love to everybody...and remember to JUICE EVERYDAY!

Jay Kordich

http://www.hacres.com/diet/research/carrot_juice_full.pdf

Tomatillos have a great taste and are not used often here in America, unless you are of hispanic origin.

Linda and I use tomatillos frequently in raw salsas and also in juice.

But here's a LITTLE BIT about their background:

1. Although the name “tomatillo” translates as “little tomato” these tangy citrus-like fruits of the plant.
2. Tomatillos are only distant cousins of tomatoes. They are more closely related to Cape Gooseberries. Found in specialty vegetable departments or at farmer’s markets in New Zealand when they ripen at the end of February, and looking like small green tomatoes with papery covers around them.
3. Tomatillos are native to Mexico, with one variety growing wild there. The fruits, which are about the same size as a cherry tomato, do not change colour as they ripen, though if left on the plant for long enough they may turn slightly yellow, but we don't let that happen, because if they turn yellow (which takes a few weeks to happen), they lose their flavor and good taste.

Leaving their papery covers on, you can store tomatillos in the fridge, unlike tomatoes, where they will keep well for several weeks.

Some Healthy Benefits of Tomatillos:

Tomatillos are now considered an anti-cancer food and contain many nutrients, including vitamins C and K, lycopene, potassium, flavonoids and folate.

Promising results relating to colon cancer are being studied.

===========================================================

Using tomatillos in JUICING:

here is one of our favorite Tomatoillo Tonics:

3 cucumbers, organic and non waxed
1/2 cup each, cilantro and parsley
1 clove garlic
5 tomatillos (the paper taken off of the skin)
1 lime, (entire lime used in the juicer, but must be organic)
14 carrots, organic
1 large red bell pepper

===========================================================

THIS IS A GREAT VITAMIN C tonic and BETACAROTENE tonic! (this recipe is good for two people)

HERE'S A SALSA RECIPE WE LOVE:

(The recipe for tomatillo salsa makes about one cup of this very tasty sauce).

5 or 6 medium tomatillos, husked and rinsed
2 fresh green chillies, seeds removed
5 or 6 sprigs fresh cilantro, stalks removed, chopped
1/4 cup water
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1/4 cup finely chopped white or spring onion
Salt to taste
Grill tomatillos and chillies, turning them after five minutes, until tomatillos are blistered and the chillies are soft. Mix to a coarse pulp in a blender or food processor with the garlic, cilantro and water. Stir in washed and drained chopped onion and about 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Store in an airtight jar in the refrigerator and serve with fresh corn off the cob and avocados and flax crackers!

If you want to keep it totally raw, then just do not grill the tomatillo sand chillies, but dice them up.

They range from 2 inches in diameter to 4 inches in diameter...and believe it or not, they are not hot as some believe they are. They are great in salsas and in veggie tonics. (see below for recipe intructions)

Here's a few tips to remember:

Dark Red, high in antioxidants and rich in fibers for a healthy colon....there are so many wonders about poms that I can't mention them all but here are a few:

1. Poms help fight heart disease and cancer
2. Low in calorie, high in nutrtion, as I call these high nutrient per nutrient density.
3. High in potassium (good for blood pressure)
4. High in antioxidants
5. The seeds are known to contain some fantastic fiber for our large and small intestines.

Pomegranates are IN SEASON NOW! Try peeling one and it may take a few minutes, but oh they are worth it!

Linda and I have a favorite Pomegranate Tonic:

-------------------------------------------------

POM POM Magic

2 large Poms (peel all the red off of the POM and leave as much of the white pulp as possible)
Cut in four pieces

3 Pippin Apples (cored and quartered.)

1 inch ginger (fresh, and you don't have to peel the ginger, just push it through the juicer, mixed in with some of the apple.)

Alternate between the Poms and the Apples to make sure it all gets flushed through.

Makes enough for two people.

This is a wonderful tonic for wintertime immunity builders!

Linda and I used to live in San Diego for almost 20 years. We lived in an area called Rancho Santa Fe, where lots of homes were on many acres with lots of orange trees especially, but luckily our neighbor was smart enough to grow a diversified orchard filled with lots of pomegranate and persimmon trees. (Even though pomegranates aren't grown on a tree like an apple tree, it's still considered a tree).

Not many people eat persimmons, as they have not been greatly distributed to grocery stores throughout America, yet of course, in Asia they are prolific.

The kinds of persimmons we are used to are called Fuyu. You can eat them hard, like an apple, and they juice well this way.

Or you can try just eating one. It is crisp like an apple, sweet like a pear. Wash the Fuyu. Some like to peel the fruit, but we eat it with the skin on it, as it's still sweet.

A Fuyu persimmon is nutritious. It is high in Vitamins A & C. A medium sized fruit has no fat but does have about 25 grams of sugar, so it's a no no for diabetics and hypoglycemics.

Here's a bit more.....

One serving of persimmon fruit offers 55 percent of your daily recommended amount of vitamin A and 21 percent of your daily amount of vitamin C. It also has eight percent of your daily amount of potassium.
Persimmons are a great source of dietary fiber. One serving has six g of dietary fiber.

Here's a juicing recipe with Fuyu Persimmons Linda and I use when they come in season:

4 Fuyu Persimmons (take green tops off)
2 green apples
1/2 inch fresh ginger

For fun you can add a touch of cinnamon to the foamy top of your juice glass.

There are other varieties of Persimmons such as the Tanenashi or Hachiya Persimmon which ripens soft, and is not recommended to eat hard.

When they ripen we recommend blending it:

3 Tanenashi Persimmons (take out the top green stem)
1 Bananas
3 cups water with one cup of ice
1 pear (cored and ripe)
1/2 inch ginger, fresh

Blend and enjoy a great Fall Blended Tonic!
